Latest Updates from Our Project:

Update - March 2022
about 2 years ago – Thu, Mar 17, 2022 at 05:55:33 PM

Hi everyone!

This is a quick update about the Emporium hardcover version. May is still the estimated timeframe at this point. I've been in regular communication with Mixam, and the book is in the pre-press stage currently. Essentially this is when they are going through page by page and making sure all the colors and text will look good once printed. We've just done a couple revisions to smooth out some issues, and I continue to make this big final stage of the project a top priority.

Until next time, take care, my brave companions!

Update - February 2022
about 2 years ago – Fri, Feb 25, 2022 at 05:45:15 PM

Hello everyone!

I hope you all have been enjoying the Emporium (and Blood Lament and the maps). The current estimate from Mixam is May. This estimate seems more solid, as the rep I've been corresponding with has confirmed that their new site will have satin paper and be functional soon.

The reality is that the printing industry (and many industries) have been severely impacted by the pandemic, driving up costs of all kinds and creating massive shortages and long delays. But do not lose hope! This book is going to get printed and shipped. I remain dedicated to this.

I cannot thank you enough for your patience, understanding, and support. This is not the way I wanted things to go, but nobody knew just how profoundly our world would be affected by this damned plague. In the end, we shall persevere. I'm already working on new projects that have me very excited, and I can hardly wait to reveal them.

Sincerely,

Esper

Updates and Errata for the Emporium
over 2 years ago – Fri, Jan 28, 2022 at 04:55:00 AM

Hello everyone,

I hope you are doing well. This has been a challenging couple weeks for me, but I am moving forward with hope and inspiration.

The Emporium has received its first round of errata to update some things that needed a bit of tune-up. There are not too many updates, but they are important. Everyone should be receiving an email from Backerkit with a new download code for the Emporium pdf. One upside to the hardcover printing delay is that I was able to get these updates into the printed version.

I encourage you to download the FAQ and Errata document from my website, as it details what the updates were and also includes some clarification points about certain things in the book.

In related news, the print company Mixam has been in touch with me. They continue to seek solutions to get the book printed despite the terrible shortage of coated paper. They are estimating now March or April for the hardcover printing. Let's remain patient, as the state of the world is quite a mess at the moment. We will get through this!

Until next time, keep your hearth fires burning warmly,

Esper

Update - January 2022
over 2 years ago – Tue, Jan 04, 2022 at 10:31:28 AM

Hello everyone and Happy New Year!

The print company is currently out of coated paper, as there is a worldwide shortage (the nice satin stuff used for books like this). There is a worldwide shortage of many things during this blasted plague. They are estimating they should be restocked and back in production next month. I'm greatly hoping so. I had the option to instead print the Emporium on uncoated paper, and even though that would have gotten the hardcover out and sent already, I am not willing to sacrifice the quality of the book. There is so much great art that it deserves to be displayed in brilliant glory on coated paper. We've come this far, I'm not going to take a shortcut here in the final stretch.

I am quite happy with the digital version of the Emporium, and hopefully you all have been enjoying it too. Of course, I very very very much look forward to the hardcover finally coming into existence. Thank you as always for bearing with me, and I wish you all a wonderful new year.

In other news, I'm back to producing more regular content on my channel, and I have a couple exciting new projects in the works. More to be revealed in the coming months ...

May your adventures be many,

Esper

I Have Submitted the Purchase Order for the Hardcover Books
over 2 years ago – Mon, Dec 06, 2021 at 10:35:21 PM

Big news everyone! I received the second test copy of the hardcover Emporium. I had to correspond with the print company, as the front cover image was slightly off center. They assured me this is a simple fix, and I have just put in the purchase order. Huzzah!

This is a busy season for the print company, so they are estimating a 33-day turn-around for me to receive the books (approximately 2 tons of books!!). Once I receive them, I will be shipping them out to you all.

I really wish this project hadn't gotten delayed so much, but I learned a TON from this experience, which will serve me for the better when I do my next project. I cannot thank you enough for your patience and support. The book looks great, and I'm very excited about you all having in hand in the near future.

Happy Holidays, and I will see you in the next update.
