44 Backers Still Have Not Filled Out The Survey
over 2 years ago – Sun, Oct 03, 2021 at 02:04:26 AM

Hello everyone,

I'm wrapping up work on the Emporium. Just finished the final revisions and proofreading late last night, literally 1 minute before midnight!

It has come to my attention there are some backers who have not filled out the pledge fulfillment survey. I sent emails to all of these individuals directly (currently 44 stragglers). A few emails bounced back as undeliverable, so I sent messages to them here on Kickstarter.

If you have not done the survey yet, please do so asap. Whether you pledged for physical or digital product, this is necessary so that you can receive the book.

Thank you as always! More updates soon!

Hello everyone, I just posted an EEE preview video on my YouTube channel. Give it a like and a share, let's get the last of the preorders in before this tome goes to print.

September 2021 - 2nd Update
over 2 years ago – Sun, Sep 19, 2021 at 05:55:25 AM

Hello backers!

I'm excited and anxious, as the book is getting so close to being done. It should be finished within just a few weeks, maybe even by the end of the month! I feel like Frodo struggling up the slopes of Mount Doom.

Below is a preview of the front and back covers. They are basically done, though I am going to adjust/modify a couple details to get things to my liking.

Wish me luck as I enter the last dungeon to face the final boss ...

August 2021 - 2nd Update
over 2 years ago – Tue, Aug 17, 2021 at 08:42:16 PM

Hey everyone, this is a quick update to let you know I am making more and more progress. Things are going well, and the big focuses at the moment have been lore and formatting. I'm particularly happy with how a lot of the lore is turning out. Much like how the art has a variety of styles, the lore also has a variety of different approaches. Some is what I would call "standard lore", which gives straightforward bits of information or exposition. Other parts are instead quotes from NPCs in the book, them telling about their (often calamitous) experiences with the monsters. Other parts still are even more artistic—the poems, riddles, and rhymes that give flavor to certain creatures or NPCs.

I'm learning so much through this process, especially about the practical limitations of making a book like this. Sometimes, a monster only has a small space to get a single paragraph of lore. Other times, a monster ends up with way more space that was anticipated, and it needs a bunch more lore or a sidebar or even a variant version stat block. Basically, every page is a puzzle that must be solved and also fit together with all the other puzzle-pages. In other words, it's a megadungeon. But it's coming together day by day.

Onwards into this summer of trial-by-fire!
